Crypto Tycoon's Chopped-Up Body Found In Suitcase In Argentina
Police were able to identify Fernando Perez Algaba by his fingerprints and the distinctive tattoos on the body parts.
New Delhi: The body parts of cryptocurrency influencer Fernando Perez Algaba, who was missing for more than a week, was found in a suitcase in Argentinian capital Buenos Aires, New York Post reported. The incident came to light when a group of children playing by a stream found a red suitcase filled with the dismembered remains of Algaba.
According to the report, the children’s parents informed the police, who reportedly found the victim’s legs and forearm inside the suitcase, while the whole arm in the stream. His head and torso were discovered on Wednesday.
According to local media El Pais, the body parts were cleanly amputated, which indicated it was a work of a professional.

Meanwhile, the autopsy reported revealed Algaba was shot thrice before his body parts were chopped up. Police were able to identify the victim by his fingerprints and the distinctive tattoos on the body parts, the report stated.
It is to be noted that Fernando Perez Algaba, nicknamed Lechuga (lettuce) by his friends, was an entrepreneur. He started working at the age of 14 as a pizza delivery man.
“I started with a bicycle and a box and I started selling sandwiches,” earlier reports had quoted Algaba as saying.
From there, Algaba moved on to repairing and reselling vehicles and eventually accumulated millions by renting luxury vehicles and selling cryptocurrency. Algaba garnered around 900,000 followers on Instagram and frequently advertised his business on the platform.
Algaba was settled in Barcelona in Spain, but was reportedly in Argentina for a week before his murder. He was missing since July 19, according to reports.
