'Civil War Likely If Taliban Fails To Form Inclusive Govt': Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has requested the Taliban to form an inclusive government. He says that the Taliban's failure to do this could lead to a civil war situation in Afghanistan.

Imran Khan on Taliban: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday called on the Taliban to form an inclusive government and warned them that failure to do so could lead to a civil war in Afghanistan and make the country an "ideal place" for terrorists, as reported by DAWN.

Imran Khan favors women's rights

Imran Khan also said that preventing women from accessing education in Afghanistan would be un-Islamic. Imran Khan said in an interview with the BBC, "If they don't involve all the factions, sooner or later they will have a civil war. That would mean an unstable, chaotic Afghanistan and an ideal place for terrorists. That is a worry.''

Discussions with Taliban for an inclusive government

Earlier, Pakistan PM, Imran Khan had said on Saturday that he has initiated a dialogue with the Taliban for an inclusive Afghanistan government having Tajiks, Hazaras and Uzbeks. At the same time, member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) also declared it important to have an inclusive government in the war-torn country. The inclusive government that was said to include representatives of all ethnic, religious and political groups.

In August, after taking control of Afghanistan, the Taliban had promised an "inclusive" government that will represent Afghanistan's complex ethnic structure. However, the 33-member interim cabinet neither has a member of the Hazara community nor a woman.
