Chinese businessman arrested for calling Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta a 'monkey'
In a video posted on social media, the man can be heard calling the people of Kenya as monkey. He went on to say that even the President of Kenya is like a ''monkey".
New Delhi: A Chinese businessman working in Kenya was arrested after a video of him making a racist remarks at president of the Republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, went viral.
In a video posted on social media, the man can be heard calling the people of Kenya as monkey. He went on to say that even the President of Kenya is like a monkey.
He can be heard saying: “"Every one, every Kenyan... like a monkey, even Uhuru Kenyatta. All of them,"
The man has been identified as Liu Jiaqi and is now being processed for deportation as per reports.
The immigration service of Kenya took to Twitter to inform that the man’s work permit has been cancelled and he will be deported on racism grounds.
In the video the man went on to say that he doesn’t like it in Kenya because it smells bad and people are black. When asked why he doesn’t go back to China, he replied that he is staying in Kenya only because money is important.
The arrest comes a day after Kenyan police raided the African headquarters of the China Global Television Network in Nairobi, briefly detaining several journalists as part of an ongoing crackdown against illegal immigrants, reported AFP.
