For the Sikh holiday, Bandi Chhor Divas issued a statement, saying “Bandi Chhor Divas is a time of celebration, where family and friends traditionally gather to read the Sikh holy book – the Guru Granth Sahib – feast, and adorn their homes and Gurdwaras in colourful lights. This year’s festivities will look different due to the COVID‑19 pandemic, as we follow public health guidelines to keep each other and our communities safe. While Sikhs adapt to a new form of commemoration, this important holiday will continue to inspire us and serve as a reminder that justice and peace will prevail."
As Sikhs across the country and around the world mark Bandi Chhor Divas, we’re reminded of the importance of freedom, inclusion, and respect. To everyone celebrating this important day, Sophie and I are sending you our warmest wishes. https://t.co/xoCNwGBi9J
