California: Sacramento Shooting Leaves Six Dead, Nine Wounded, Police Say
The shooting happened early Sunday morning and the condition of victims were not immediately known, said the Sacramento Police Department, quoted the news agency.
New Delhi: At least six people were reported dead and nine injured folllowing a shooting incident took place in California’s Sacramento downtown, say Sacramento Police, reports news agency AFP.
Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester while briefing about the incident at a news conference said that police were patrolling the area at about 2 a.m. when they heard gunfire. When they arrived at the scene, they found a large crowd gathered on the street and six people dead. Another 10 either took themselves or were transported to hospitals. No information was given on their conditions, reports AP.

The shooting happened early Sunday morning and the condition of victims were not immediately known, said the Sacramento Police Department.
Police are now searching for atleast one suspect in connection with the case, although authorities are not sure if one or more suspects are invloved in the case. It has also aksed the public's help in identifying those who are responsible for the incident.
A footage of the incident posted on Twitter showed people running through the street as the sound of rapid gunfire could be heard in the background. Multiple ambulances sent to the spot could also be seen in the video.
Police provided few details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting but said in a tweet that a “large police presence will remain and the scene remains active,” stated the above-mentioned report by the news agency.
