Mob Lynching Of 'Arab' Man Aired Live On TV Amid Violent Conflict Between Israel & Palestine
In Tel Aviv a man suspected of being Arab was lynched by a far right Jewish mob which was aired on Israeli TV.
New Delhi: On Thursday, a man was attacked by a mob of demonstrators because he was suspected to be Arab in Bat Yam, Tel Aviv.
Making matters worse, the mob lynching was broadcasted live by a public channel Kan.
According to an AFP report, in the footage, the mob was seen forcibly pulling out the man from inside of his car and thrashing him until he was unconscious. People from the mob justified the attack by alleging that the ‘Arab’ man was trying to run the car over the demonstrators. But in the video could be seen that the car was trying to avoid the demonstrators.
By the time the police reached tha man, he was laying on the ground unconscious.
Members of the Jewish community have condemned the attack, far-right lawmaker Betzalel Smotrich who is the head of the "Religious Zionism" party was quoted by AFP as saying, "Jewish brothers, stop! We cannot under any circumstances allow ourselves to take part in violent acts".
During the same night, several demonstrations by far-right activists were taking place in different cities including - Acre, Haifa and Lod - some of which led to clashes with police and Arab Israelis.
Since Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound attack, the conflict which was brewing for seven year between Palestine and Israel intensified. The violence has left a few dozens dead and many properties of civilians have been destroyed.
