VIRAL SACH: Should you not buy petrol for round-figured values?

A message is going viral that says people who buy petrol for their vehicles by making payments in round figures get 15-20 percent lesser than what they pay for. The viral message says that people who buy petrol by paying Rs 100, 200, 300 get lesser fuel. According to the message, codes are set in machines that dispense lesser fuel at these values. The message advised people to buy fuel for odd values like Rs 105, 215, 325. When we went to a petrol pump to investigate the message, we came to know that these machines cannot be tampered with. These machines are linked to software monitored by companies like Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum. They even have data regarding how much petrol is being dispensed through a particular nozzle and money received. This is false message.
