Viral Sach: Is it a ‘lungi’ protest against moral policing?

A post is going viral that says female students of a college in Kerala had worn ‘lungi’ when management banned jeans for female students. This picture of students was tweeted by many celebrities including DJ Archana Vijaya. Hairstylist Sapna had also lauded their courage. However, when ABP News investigated, we found that ban had nothing to do with the picture. This picture is not of Kerala. Actually, in 2015, Telugu movie Shreemanthudu had released and star Mahesh Babu had worn ‘lungi’ on-screen. These young girls were Mahesh Babu’s fans and hence they had worn ‘lungi’. We also verified the fact with Mahesh Babu Fan Association that this photo is not of Kerala. This is a false message.
