YouTube Suspending Trump's Channel For At Least One Week & Potentially Longer

Alphabet Inc's YouTube has removed all of President Trump's new content and has prevented the channel from uploading new videos, or livestreams for a "minimum" of seven days-which may be extended.

New Delhi: After being banned from Twitter and Facebook, U.S. President Donald Trump has now been banned YouTube. In a Twitter statement issued by YouTube said that President Trump's channel has violated policies for inciting violence. Alphabet Inc's Video-streaming service, has now prevented the from uploading new videos or livestreams for a minimum of seven days-which may be extended. YouTube has also disable the comment section in President Trump's channel and few other channels were safety concerns were raised. According to a Reuters report, earlier, U.S. civil rights groups said they will organize an advertiser boycott against YouTube if it does not remove President Donald Trump’s channel. One of the organizers for the "Stop Hate for Profit" campaign told Reuters that "if YouTube does not agree with us and join the other platforms in banning Trump, we’re going to go to the advertisers”. ALSO READ: VP Mike Pence Rejects Invoking 25th Amendment To Remove Outgoing President Donald Trump The Reuters report also said that Trump's channel on Tuesday posted eight new videos including one in which Trump told reporters “I think Big Tech has made a terrible mistake” by blocking him. In the aftermath of the US Capitol Hill violence, Donald Trump's account on popular social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter stands suspended. Mark Zuckerberg placed an "indefinite" ban on the outgoing US President Donald Trump's Facebook and Instagram accounts. The microblogging site Twitter had also imposed a block on Trump’s handle for 12-hours which turned into a permanent suspension citing “the risk of further incitement of violence” .
