An incident of alleged misconduct has surfaced aboard the Grand Trunk Express (Train No. 12616), which travels from New Delhi to Chennai via Gwalior. A passenger has accused the train's pantry staff of physical assault and theft during the journey.

Passenger Claims Assault Over Overcharging Complaint

Sarfaraz Zain, a travel blogger known for documenting his train journeys on social media, has accused the pantry staff of attacking him after he raised a complaint regarding overcharging for a water bottle. According to Zain, he was beaten by the staff and his mobile phone was snatched during the altercation.

Water Bottle Allegedly Not IRCTC-Approved

Zain also claimed that the bottled water being sold on the train was not approved by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), raising further concerns about the pantry services on board.
