TDP MLA Attacked In Assembly At Behest Of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy: Chandrababu Naidu

Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the attack on MLA Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy was pre-planned and carried out with the instructions of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday alleged that a TDP MLA in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly was attacked by ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLAs at the behest of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

According to an IANS report, Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the attack on MLA Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy was pre-planned and carried out following instructions from Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Naidu referred to the attack on the TDP MLA within the Assembly as the darkest day in the history of the Assembly and strongly condemned it.

He stated that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy would remain as a polluted chief minister who spoiled the image of the legislative bodies. Never in the history of Andhra Pradesh was a MLA attacked inside the house, and today is the darkest day in the assembly's history, Chandrababu Naidu said, as quoted by IANS.

On Monday, the TDP and YSRCP MLAs attacked each other in the state Assembly during TDP members' protest demanding the state government abolish an order that imposed restrictions on public meetings on roads. A ruckus erupted in the House as TDP members surrounded Speaker Tammineni Seetharam’s podium.

TDP MLA Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy had moved closer to the Speaker while arguing with him. A few YSRCP MLAs arrived there in the meantime and allegedly pushed TDP members. The YSRCP MLA Sudhakar Babu allegedly pulled back Swamy, who fell down on the podium.

Looking at the developments, the Speaker left the House. The MLAs continued pushing and pulling each other. Finally, marshals stood as a barrier between them.
