Spy Images: Mahindra Marazzo Fully Revealed Ahead Of September 3 Launch

The exterior design doesn’t seem to be as radical as the one we’ve seen in sketches so far

The Mahindra Marazzo has been spied completely ahead of its launch on September 3 and dealers across the country have already begun accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 11,000. It is expected to be positioned as a premium product with a price tag ranging between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.

The spy shots reveal blacked-out A-, B- and C-pillars along with a slight kink accompanied by a black element on the D-pillar. These elements combine together to give the effect of a floating roof. The spied test mule also gets stickers on the sides that read ‘the smooth and silent Marazzo’. The tag line could be for the “virtually new” diesel engine, which is likely to be a reworked version of the existing 1.5-litre 3-cylinder engine. The abrupt rear end, however, looks a bit out of place. The images also reveal chrome door handles and a thick chrome strip at the rear.

The Marrazo will follow Mahindra’s usual variant nomenclature. The spied variant gets an M8 badge at the rear and could probably be the top-spec variant. It gets an all-around body cladding except on the wheel arches. The vertically-placed tail lamps look swollen and oversized and doesn’t gel well with the rear half of the MPV. Mahindra has also released an image of the Marazzo’s alloy wheels, which are 17-inch units with a twin-six-spoke design.

The wheels pictured here get a glossy black-and-silver dual-tone finish with spokes shaped like shark fins. We’ll have to wait till the launch date to know whether these wheels will be limited to the top-spec variant or will find their way into lower variants as well.

Inside, the Marazzo’s dashboard will have a conventional set-up. The infotainment system will be positioned in the middle of the centre console and will not be floating-type unit. The MPV will also feature a roof-mounted, centrally located AC system apart from second row window blinds. Mahindra has, from the outset, said that the Marazzo will be offered with the option of seven and eight seats. The 7-seater version will get captain seats with individual armrests for the second row, while the 8-seater version will feature a bench-type seat.

There’s no concrete info on the exact specifications of the Marazzo except that it will be powered by a diesel engine at the time of launch. Set to be projected as a premium product, we hope Mahindra offers the Marazzo with an automatic transmission besides the regular manual gearbox.

Stay tuned to CarDekho as we cover the launch of the Marazzo on 3 September, 2018.
