Sidhu Moose Wala Murder: 2 More Nabbed In Kenya, Azerbaijan. India In Touch With Officials, Says MEA
Sidhu Moose Wala Murder: Now the Indian Ministry of External Affairs is contacting the officials of both the countries.
New Delhi: External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Thursday that two suspects one from Kenya and one from Azerbaijan have been detained in connection with the sensational killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala and India is in close touch with local authorities. "One suspect each in Azerbaijan and Kenya have been detained by local authorities there and we are in contact with the concerned authorities in both the countries on further steps," Arindam Bagchi said.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Thursday that Sachin Thapan Bishnoi and Anmol Bishnoi, accused in the murder of the singer, have been arrested. Sachin Thapan has been arrested in Azerbaijan and Anmol in Kenya. Now the Indian Ministry of External Affairs is contacting the officials of both countries so that after completing the next legal process, both of them can be brought to India at the earliest.
On Tuesday in Chandigarh, Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav informed that Sachin Thapan has been arrested in Azerbaijan. According to the DGP, Thapan had earlier fled to Dubai. He was traced to Azerbaijan with the joint effort of the Indian government and central agencies.
Along with this, Punjab Police had received information about the sighting of Anmol Bishnoi in Kenya, whose arrest there was confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday.
Both Thapan and Anmol Bishnoi fled the country before Moose Wala’s murder on fake passports. Sachin was detained in Azerbaijan's capital Baku for two weeks. According to top officials, he left for Azerbaijan from Dubai on May 31.
After Moose Wala's death, Sachin claimed to the media that he had killed the singer. However, whether these two are the same or not is yet to be confirmed.
Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by assailants in Jawaharke village of Punjab's Mansa district on May 29. The incident took place a day after his security was withdrawn by the Punjab police among 424 others.
