“There is no foolproof mechansim to stop the violence in the state, but we ensured no violence takes place in several regions,” he added. On asking about the roadmap of Bengal going ahead, “In 2011 the state was in extremely bad shape which had not only derailed the investments, but also plunged the state into darkness. We were able to restore peace and tranquility in several regions including the hills,” said the Rajya Sabha MP.

On questions of TMC leaders joining the oppostion he said, “We have 218 MLAs, and not even 18 MLAs have left the party, it is just a few people. Those who left are the ones who think would not get the position in the party or are into corruption. We will get over 200 seats and are confident."
" We challenge the BJP to prove any charges of corruption on,” said Roy.
“It’s not good to talk about religion because it’s an insult to the religion, and politics and religion should not be mixed,” he stressed.
Roy said BJP only raises 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans while we also chant ' Joi Bangla and Jai Hind'. " We want to keep politics and religion but BJP does not believe in this ideology."
