'A Traitor': Priyanka Chaturvedi Hits Back At 'Because Of Her Beauty' Remark Of Sena Leader
Priyanka Chaturvedi has hit back at Shinde-led Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Shirsat over his comment on why she was sent to Rajya Sabha.
A Shiv Sena MLA drew heavy criticism over his misogynistic remarks against Rajya Sabha member Priyanka Chaturvedi, who belongs to the Uddhav Thackeray-led group. Sanjay Shirsat, an MLA from the Eknath Shinde faction claimed that Chaturvedi was sent to Rajya Sabha by Aaditya Thackeray because of her beauty, reported PTI. Now, Priyanka Chaturvedi has hit back calling him a traitor who sold his soul and integrity. She tweeted that she didn’t need a traiitor tell her what she looked like why she was in Rajya Sabha. She said Shirsat displayed his sick views on politics and women with his comment.
Shirsat had claimed that former MP Chandrakant Khaire from Shiv Sena (UBT), had told him this.
Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted, “I don't need a traitor to tell me what I look like and why I'm where I am, who sold his soul and integrity for 50 boxes."
Sanjay Shirsat is a perfect example of the widespread sickness in his views on politics and women, he definitely displays his own vulgar character through his comments, no wonder the BJP has kept him with them”, she tweeted in Marathi.

Meanwhile, Aaditya Thackeray said that Shirsat has a rotten mind and has realised his worth. “I don’t know how people with such a rotten mindset have survived in politics,” Thackrey was quoted by PTI.
Priyanka Chaturvedi joined the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena in 2019 after leaving the Congress, where she served as a national spokesperson. According to an Hindustan Times report, in her resignation letter, she stated that she felt she reached the end of the road and her services were not valued at the party any more.
