Following the incident approached the cops who said that a probe was underway adding that at least two Muslim girls approached the police.

"The NEET (Undergraduate) exam was held at six centres in Washim on Sunday. This incident of two girls being asked to remove their burqa and hijab (face veil) allegedly happened in Matoshree Shantabai Gote College. Their application to the police claims that the staff involved in checking students made objectionable remarks like threatening to cut the burqa-hijab if they didn't remove it voluntarily," a police official said citing the complaints.

The report further quoted one of the aggrieved students as saying that they were earlier allowed on the premises for the exam but were later told to remove their hijab and burqa outside, adding that staff also entered into arguments with them.

Girl Students Asked To Remove Innerwear In Kerala

Young women and girl students in Kerala’s Kollam district who came to appear for NEET UG exam had to suffer humiliation after they were asked to remove part of their undergarments to be allowed to write the exam.

According to the father of one such 17-year old girl, who was sitting for her first ever NEET exam, his daughter is yet to come out of the traumatic experience wherein she had to sit for the over 3-hour long exam without a brassiere.

As per PTI report the father has lodged a police complaint and intends to move the Human Rights Commission also.

Reacting to the incident, Kerala Higher Education Minister R Bindu on Monday said the test was not organised by a state-run agency and what happened indicated a grave lapse on the part of the organisers.
