E-Shikhar Sammelan: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Says Not To Fear But Fight Corona, Assures Jobs To Labourers

At E-Shikhar Sammelan, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan dismissed the reports that his government delayed preparation as it was busy with issues among the party regarding allotment of ministerial portfolios.

New Delhi: In a conversation at the ABP News E-Shikhar Sammelan, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh assured that the state has taken all the required measures to fight the Coronavirus and labourers are being provided work and encouraged to come back. He emphasied there is no need to fear for this disease and instead everyone has to put up a brave front and fight against it. “There is a need to bring a change in the lifestyle but continue with all other activities,” the minister added. The chief minister dismissed the reports that his government delayed preparation as it was busy with issues among the party regarding allotment of ministerial portfolios. E-Shikhar Sammelan: India Should Use Pandemic As Opportunity For Growth, Says Ramdev Shivraj Singh said, “On March 23rd, I became the CM and immediately held a meeting on coronavirus. We created containment zones, isolation centres, and all facilities were put in place to fight the disease.” The minister blamed the previous government for not taking enough measures to prevent coronavirus cases in Jabalpur, Indore, Bhopal before he became CM. He alleged that the previous government was too busy in organising IIFA He listed out various schemes implemented in the state to make sure that no one sleeps hungry in MP. “We have taken a lot of measures to help the labourers who are coming back to work under MNREGA. We are encouraging them to come back. We have given labourers Rs1,000, issued 5 kg grains to every person, also put money in kids' account, besides midday meals and a lot of other welfare measures. We have released almost Rs2,990 crore to farmers to help them sail through this tough time,” said the CM. He said there are areas that have already been declared free form coronavirus which include Vidisha, Shivpuri, Morena. The CM said almost 500 people in the state have recovered while others are recuperating and going back to their houses. On health workers being attacked in the state, the chief minister said, “Those attackers have been charged with NSA and no one will dare to attack any health workers...only a mad person can do and if he/she does strict action will be taken.” India has reported 35043 cases of Covid-19 patients and 1,147 deaths so far. Madhya Pradesh has reported 2,660 cases.
