Ludhiana Court Blast-Linked SFJ Radical Jaswinder Singh Multani Arrested In Germany

Multani was arrested by the Federal Police from Erfurt in Central Germany after the Indian Government requested the German authorities.

New Delhi: Jaswinder Singh Multani, a member of the banned radical group, Sikh For Justice was arrested in Germany in connection with the Ludhiana Court blast case, reported ANI. The agencies in Germany have been interrogating Multani following his arrest, suspecting his involvement in hatching conspiracy to carry out blasts in various cities of India, including Ludhiana.

Multani was arrested by the Federal Police from Erfurt in Central Germany after the Indian Government requested the German authorities.

An incident of bomb blast had occurred in the Ludhiana District Court complex on December 23 where one person was killed and six others were injured.

Multani’s name had recently popped up on the security agencies’ radar when he targeted to kill farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal. A person arrested in the case revealed that he received instructions from the Germany-based pro-Khalistani member Multani over social media.

Intelligence agencies had earlier alerted about Harvinder Singh Sandhu, a Babbar Khalsa terrorist who currently resides in Pakistan and Multani about their involvement in the Ludhiana blast.

The HT report quoted an official as saying that Multani was a close associate of SFJ founder, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, and was involved in separatist activities. The report further stated that the security agencies were recently looking out for Multani because he had arranged and sent a consignment of weapons from across the border with the help of Pakistan-based operatives. The weapons consignment included explosives, hand grenades, and pistols.
