Watch how Shahid Afridi defended his teammate Mohammed Amir after the latter had a fiery exchange with Naveen-Ul-Haq in Lanka Premier League.

LPL 2020: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi on Monday came out in support of speedster Mohammed Amir and scowled at Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq for verbally abusing Amir following Galle Gladiators 25-run defeat at the hands of Kandy Tusker in Lanka Premier League (LPL). 21-year-old Naveen ul Haq was seen verbally intimidating and sledging at senior Pak pacer Amir while the latter was batting. Things got heated further after the match with visuals showing Munaf Patel and other cricketers trying to intervene and calm the situation between the two of them, As players from both sides were greeting each other after the match, Shahid Afridi, skipper of Galle Gladiators, was seen smiling until Naveen came up and Afridi asked him what he was saying to Amir. 'Kya Hua [What Happened],' he asked to which the young pacer retorted even as he tried to clarify his stance. A Pakistani journalist claimed Afridi told Naveen "Son I was scoring 100s in international cricket before you were born".
The incident reignited the rivalry between Pakistan and Afghanistan as fans from both sides have been going all out at each other on social media. Brendan Taylor’s half-century guided Kandy Tusker to a massive total of 196 runs in their 20 overs. In response, Danushka Gunathilaka played a smashed 82 off 53 balls but could not take the Gladiators to the finish line. Who is Naveen Ul Haq? Naveen-ul-Haq is an Afghan cricketer aged 21. He made his international debut for the Afghanistan cricket team in September 2016 against Bangladesh. In December 2017, he was appointed as the skipper of Afghanistan's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Mohammed Amir overlooked for Pakistan's upcoming tour to New Zealand Left-arm Pakistan pacer Muhammad Amir has vowed to bounce back from the disappointment of being overlooked for the upcoming tour of New Zealand. Shahid Afridi  had not completed quarantine period Former Pakistan big-hitting cricketer Shahid Afridi blasted 58 off 23 balls against Jaffna Stallions three days ago.
