Uttar Pradesh Govt Announces Lockdown In State From July 10 Till July 13; All You Need To Know

All essential and medical services will remain functional as normal during the lockdown and there will be no restriction on the movement of people involved in these services.

Noida: In a bid to contain the spread of rising cases of Coronavirus cases, Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday announced lockdown in the state starting from 10 pm on July 10 (Thursday) till 5 am on July 13. The state government has reimposed the lockdown in a bid to cut the chain of transmission of coronavirus, Chief Secretary Rajendra Tiwari said while announcing the order. Here Is What Experts Think The order also stated that during lockdown, all markets, haats, mandis and offices in all urban and rural areas will remain closed. Essential services, however, will continue to ply. All essential and medical services will remain functional as normal during the lockdown and there will be no restriction on the movement of people involved in these services. Train and air travel will continue to operate during the lockdown. However, road transport has been ordered to be shut down. The government has said that bus services will be made available for air and train passengers. Doorstep delivery services will also remain operational and there will be no restrictions on movement of people involved with it. Petrol pumps and hospitals will continue to function normally. In the view of rising Covid-19 cases, Ballia district administration has already imposed lockdown in Ballia and adjoining areas till July 12. This is for the first time that the UP government has imposed lockdown in the entire state every since Centre started the unlocking process in the country. Earlier the state government has imposed partial lockdown in some areas and containment zones and had also sealed borders with Delhi at Ghaziabad and Noida borders. So far, Uttar Pradesh has over 30,000 cases of Coronavirus, of which more than 20,000 patients have recovered and 845 have died. Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar alone has reported over 3,000 Covid-19 cases.
