UP School Principal Jailed For Hanging Nursery Student Upside Down From Building In Mirzapur

New Delhi: In an appalling incident, the principal of a private school in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur dangled a child upside down from the school building’s first floor as a punishment for his mischief.
The photograph of the five-year-old boy dangling down and scores of children looking on has gone viral on social media.
The Mirzapur Police also informed about the inhuman treatment meted out to the nursery student Sonu Yadav by the school principal earlier on Wednesday.
The police have registered a case against the school principal on the complaint of Sonu’s father Ranjit Yadav.
The case has been registered against the school principal under Section 75 of the Juvenile Act besides other relevant laws.
The Police have also arrested the principal.
"The school principal who behaved inhumanly with the nursery child by the Ahraura police station was arrested and sent to jail," Mirzapur Police said in a tweet in Hindi.
“My son had only gone to eat gol gappa with the other kids and they were being a little naughty. For this, the principal meted out such a punishment which could have endangered my son's life,” Ranjit Yadav said, IANS reported.

The incident reportedly took place in the Sadbhavna Shikshan Sansthan Junior High School in Ahraura.
Taking cognizance of the matter, Mirzapur District Magistrate Praveen Kumar Laxkar has ordered the basic education officer to investigate the same.
As per reports, the school principal has been arrested for his indecent gesture.
