"I had allotted 2 seats to him, but he (Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad) received some call and refused to be part of the alliance," SP Chief was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

New Delhi: After Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad ruled out any alliance with Samajwadi Party for the upcoming UP Polls 2022, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said that the party had allotted two seats to Azad, but after receiving some calls he refused to be part of an alliance.

"I had allotted 2 seats to him, but he (Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad) received some call and refused to be part of the alliance," SP Chief was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

Earlier in the day, while refuting any alliance with SP ahead of UP Polls, Bhim Army head Chandrashekhar Azad claimed that Akhilesh Yadav does not want Dalits in this partnership and is only interested in the Dalit vote bank.

“After all the discussions, I felt in the end that Akhilesh Yadav does not want Dalits in this alliance, he just wants Dalit vote bank,” said Azad, ANI reported.

The previous Uttar Pradesh chief minister, according to the Bhim Army Chief, "humiliated" the people of Bahujan Samaj.

With less than a month until the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, five BJP MLAs have joined the Samajwadi Party, including Bhagwati Sagar (Bilhaur in Kanpur), Roshanlal Verma (Tilhar in Shahjahanpur), Vinay Shakya (Bidhuna in Auraiya), Brijesh Prajapati (Tindwari in Bahraich), and Mukesh Ver

Amar Singh Chaudhary, an Apna Dal (Sonelal) lawmaker, has also joined the Samajwadi Party.

Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh will be contested in seven phases from February 10 to March 7. In Uttar Pradesh, voting will take place on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27, and March 3 and 7.
