UP Election 2022 | Akhilesh Yadav To File Nomination From Karhal On Monday, BJP Candidate Not Yet Announced
Three other Samajwadi Party candidates will also file their nominations along with Yadav on Monday.
New Delhi: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav will file his nomination from the Karhal seat of Mainpuri on Monday for the upcoming assembly elections.
“Akhilesh Yadav will reach the Collectorate on January 31 and file his nomination papers,” Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said, ANI reported.
Three other Samajwadi Party candidates will also file their nominations along with Yadav on Monday.
“Preparations are almost done to file nominations of other three SP candidates with him,” added Chaudhary.
The Samajwadi Party chief is contesting the polls for the first time from the Karhal assembly seat.
“There will be a one-way election in the Karhal assembly and Akhilesh Yadav will win the election with huge votes margin,” said the Samajwadi Party spokesperson.
Yadav will walk from Saifai by road and reach the district headquarters via Karhal for nomination.
There is also a possibility of a huge public gathering enroute for the Samajwadi Party chief’s first-time nomination in the assembly elections.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet announced its candidate from the Karhal assembly seat.
The Samajwadi Party, which has a stronghold in Karhal since 1993, had to face defeat from this seat only once in 2002.
The Samajwadi Party is contesting the upcoming state assembly elections in alliance with the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).
Expressing confidence of forming the next government in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party chief had earlier on Saturday said the people have already given their verdict.
“A wrestler who loses sometimes bites or pulls. These people (BJP) have already lost,” Yadav said at a press conference along with RLD chief Jayant Chaudhry after taking the ‘anna sankalp’ of defeating the BJP, PTI reported.
Voting for the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7.
The counting of votes will be held on March 10.
