UP Election 2022: Akhilesh Appeals 'Ambedkarwadis' BSP Cadre To Vote For SP-RLD Alliance
SP Chief's remarks came after reporters asked him whether Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will hamper the vote share of SP-Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) alliance in the state.
New Delhi: In an attempt to woo voters of other parties, Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said that all 'Ambedkarwadis' should join the alliance led by him for the upcoming polls.
SP Chief's remarks came after reporters asked him whether Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will hamper the vote share of SP-Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) alliance in the state.
"I have always said that Ambedkarwadis should join Samajwadis, because we have to save the Constitution and democracy. I appeal again to Ambedkarwadis to join us," Akhilesh said while addressing a joint press conference with RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary.

Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah cautioned Rashtriya Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary over his party's tie-up with Samajwadi Party, saying Akhilesh Yadav does not even listen to his father and uncle then how would he listen to him.
Responding to the same, Akhilesh said Uttar Pradesh elections are all about "Bhaichara banaam Bharatiya Janata Party" (brotherhood versus the BJP) contest.
Shah, while addressing a poll event in Anupshahr assembly constituency in Bulandshahr district of western UP, also claimed that SP will not be able to form government in the state.
Lauding the Yogi Adityanath-led government in UP since 2017, Shah hit out at Yadav, a former chief minister, and asked if the Samajwadi Party chief can keep law and order in check in the state.
