Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya To Attend G20 Health Ministers' Summit In A 4-Day Visit To Rome
G20 Health Ministers Meet: Amid rising COVID-19 cases globally and the world possibly looking at a third wave, this meeting is said to be very crucial. Mansukh Mandaviya would be in Rome until Sept 7.
G20 Health Ministers Meet: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya would be leaving for Rome, the capital of Italy today for a four-day official tour. He would also be attending a meeting of health ministers of G20 countries in Rome, as per a tweet released by the Union Minister's office today. Mansukh Mandaviya would be in Rome until September 7. Amid rising COVID-19 cases all across the world and the possibility of a third wave in the discussion, this G20 meeting is considered to be highly important.

At the BRICS Digital Health Summit earlier on Friday, India participated in a discussion on the challenges and opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At this conclave, India was represented by Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare. "India is committed to including digital health technology in all areas of health.", she said at the conclave. She added, "Digital health technology has been the safest and most effective tool in this era of COVID-19."
Digital Health Technology was utilised well to control pandemic:
“Both waves of COVID-19 posed very different challenges before us. Human-centered effective measures, which are also sensitive to local needs, were the need of the hour. Digital Health Technology was utilised well to control the pandemic. It has also provided us more and more scientific and accurate data, due to which our response to this pandemic became stronger day-by-day.", Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar said.
At the same time, Dr. Pawar emphasized that this BRICS Digital Health Platform proved to be an absolute requirement in our fight against COVID-19. It has proved to be very important for sharing health data amongst BRICS countries so that more effective health facilities could be provided with help of mutual coordination between member countries. The conclave also sealed the BRICS Digital Health Declaration in the presence of health ministries of all member countries.
