Two Coaches Of Jaynagar-Amritsar Express Derail Near Lucknow Charbagh Station
Two coaches of 04674 Amritsar to Jaynagar derailed at Charbagh station of Lucknow division. However, there are no injuries or casualties reported as details are awaited.
Lucknow: In a latest train accident, two coaches of Amritsar-Jaynagar Express train derailed early morning on Monday. Two coaches of the Amritsar-Jaynagar Express derailed near Lucknow on Monday, however, no passenger were injured in the incident.
Northern Railway spokesperson Deepak Kumar said the news agency IANS that two coaches of Amritsar-Jaynagar Express train derailed soon after its departure from platform number one of Charbagh station in Lucknow division at 7.50 am.
While one coach was derailed by all wheels, the other was by one wheel. NR officials said that senior railway officers have reached the accident site, as per IANS. Lucknow Charbagh is one of the three main railway stations of Lucknow.
However, Railways didn't report any fatality in train accidents since April 2019. The accidents progressively have also declined from 107 in 2015-16 to 55 in 2019-20, with only 12 such cases reported this year so far, according to Railway Board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vinod Kumar Yadav, as per the Hindu report.
The indigenous Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) was also being implemented in a phased manner. The system was already functional along 250-km stretch and work on 1,200 km is in progress. TCAS along the freight dense routes is expected to be implemented by March 2024 and across the entire railway network by 2030.
