New Delhi: The political scenario of the country stood totally altered on Wednesday, after the decisive night of December 11. How could the Twitterers stay silent on it? Election results have elicited some catchy jokes and one-liners pulled on the political parties, their leaders and the results. A good number of jokes were targeted at Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath who had campaigned extensively for the BJP during the elections. Jokes and memes took a dig at the name-changing spree that Yogi has been on recently. Divya Spandana, Congress party’s social media incharge retweeted an old tweet of Modi from December 2013, in which the then Gujarat CM has said that the results of five states showed the way the wind was blowing and it was beginning of 'Congress-Mukt Bharat', but she replaced the word 'Congress' with the 'BJP'. Jokes like “Pappu Pass ho gaya’ and ‘BJP gets Triple Talaq’ have also been on the rounds. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra was also not spared by the Twitterati. Prominent faces on Twitter like writer Shobha De, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, actress Swara Bhaskar, former J&K CM Omar Abdullah were among those who took witty swipes at the poll results.
