'TMC Trying To Horsetrade Our Workers': Bengal BJP Chief Majumdar Meets Union HM Amit Shah
TMC has won 28,985 seats, BJP 7,764 seats, while Congress has got 2,022 seats so far.
After loosing the West Bengal Panchayat polls, the state BJP Chief Sukanta Majumdar on Friday meets Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi and alleged that "TMC is trying to horsetrade BJP workers," news agency ANI reported.
Taking to Twitter, Majumdar stated: "Met Union Minister Amit Shah today in Delhi and apprised him about the political situation and Panchayat election results & violence in West Bengal. Sought his valuable guidance for strengthening the party in the state."

After the meeting, Sukanta Majumdar stated: "Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured that in the month of August, he will visit West Bengal and hold a public rally...TMC is trying to horsetrade BJP workers. We are fighting against it...Be it the Assam govt or Manipur govt they are trying to curb violence in their state, but the West Bengal has not even tried to curb the panchayat poll violence...Even after farce and bogus voting our (BJP), 11,004 members were elected and it is a great number...CM Mamata Banerjee is doing dirty politics."

The counting for 63,229 Gramme Panchayat seats began at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, and TMC seemed to have taken the lead from the start.
As the counting of ballots in Bengal continued, the TMC maintained its early lead in the results.
TMC has won 28,985 seats, BJP 7,764 seats, while Congress has got 2,022 seats so far. According to the State Election Commission, as of 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday, the TMC led in 1,540 panchayat seats, while the BJP led in 417.
The Communist Party of India-Marxist has gained 2,409 seats and now holds a 260-seat majority. Other parties got 725 seats and are leading by 23 seats, while independents, including TMC dissidents, earned 1,656 seats and are leading by 104 seats.
On July 8, elections were held under strict security, with around 5.67 crore people voting and deciding the destiny of 2.06 lakh candidates contending for 73,887 seats in West Bengal's rural areas.
However, the vote day was plagued by extensive violence, ballot paper looting, and manipulation. Several districts, including Murshidabad, Cooch Behar, Malda, South 24 Parganas, North Dinajpur, and Nadia, reported booth capture, voting box damage, and assaults on presiding officers.
There have also been reports of voting boxes being set on fire and fights between political parties in several regions.
