Launching a frontal attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the alleged attack on his party workers in Tripura, TMC MP Saugata Roy said “their desperate deed cannot be forgiven”.
New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs will, as per sources, stage a protest in front of the Gandhi statue inside the Parliament premises on Monday against the alleged attack on their party workers in Tripura.
Launching a frontal attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the alleged attack on his party workers in Tripura, TMC MP Saugata Roy said “their desperate deed cannot be forgiven”.
“I condemn the action of the BJP. Their desperate deed cannot be forgiven. They cannot stop TMC by attacking our young workers. I will win the forthcoming elections in Tripura. We will see if the issue can be raised in Parliament,” ANI quoted Roy as saying.
The TMC earlier alleged that several party workers were attacked by the BJP workers in Tripura on Saturday.
The TMC workers staged a protest to express their ire over the incident. The protesting TMC workers were later arrested.
TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee, who reached Agartala earlier in the day, said democracy is being choked in Tripura, adding his party will not spare a single inch for BJP in the state.
Meanwhile, the arrested TMC workers were granted bail on Sunday.
“Bail granted to all @AITCofficial workers who were arrested in Tripura. Satyameva Jayate! I'll be taking them to Kolkata as they have sustained severe injuries & were denied medical attention. @BjpBiplab you can keep trying but all your resources will fall short! MARK MY WORDS,” Banerjee tweeted.
AITC had informed that Abhishek Banerjee, will be taking all injured workers and supporters back to Kolkata on an urgent basis. "They have sustained injuries and require medical attention following the attack on them in Tripura," the party stated.
