Tamil Nadu: Panneerselvam gathers more support, Sasikala may stage protest today
New Delhi: Political condition in Tamil Nadu has become more intense as O Panneerselvam has found support from seven more MLAs and four MPs.
Meanwhile AIADMK General Secretary V.K. Sasikala may stage protest on Sunday in the state. She alleged that the Governor is purposely causing delay so that she lose support of the MLAs.
"The created time lag looks like it was intended to create a split in the party-Respected Chinnamma", tweeted official twitter handle of AIADMK.
She had, on Saturday, sought an appointment with Tamil Nadu Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao along with all legislators supporting her. Panneerselvam has resigned from his post and the same was accepted by the Governor a week ago. "...taking the urgency of the situation at hand, I would like to seek an appointment with Your Excellency by today with all MLAs (Members of Legislative Assembly) who extended their support to me regarding further course of action to form the Government," Sasikala told Rao. "I believe Your Excellency will act immediately to save the Sovereignty of the Constitution, democracy and the interest of the State," the letter notes. (With inputs from IANS)
