St. Stephen's college row: ABVP denies role in writing 'Mandir Yahin Banega' in college chapel

Inflammatory quotes were written in the prayer hall of Delhi University's prestigious St. Stephen's college.

New Delhi: Amid the Jinnah controversy that has ravaged the Aligarh Muslim University premises, another university on Saturday got snared in a similar divisive storm. Delhi University found itself at the centre of a controversy after somebody wrote controversial phrases in chapel of St. Stephen's College. Slogan “ Mandir Yahin Bangea” that is given by RSS on the controversial the Ram mandir Agenda, was found written in the chapel of St. Stephen’s college. The words are inscribed on the doors of the chapel. Apart from that the Hindu religious symbol ‘om’ was also written there. The cross that in the prayer hall had the sentence “I will go to hell” written over it. Saint Stephen’s college is one of the most prestigious educational institutions of the country. NSUI the student Union of Congress has alleged that ABVP is trying to corrode the atmosphere of one of the most prestigious universities. It has also alleged that it is clearly an act of the right wingers because the elections of DUSU are approaching. The controversial writings have now been erased from the door and the university administration’s full attempt is towards maintaining peaceful atmosphere inside the college. ABVP has refuted all the allegations of NSUI and has said that the culprits should be traced with the help of CCTV footage and they should not be spared at any cost.  It is a deliberate attempt to instigate the minority section and to create tensions. It also asked NSUI to “stop cheap politics for vote bank.” Also watch ABP News' report:
