Shivpal Yadav resigns from ministerial post, tenders resignation to Mulayam Singh
New Delhi: The Samajwadi Party leader and younger brother of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Shivpal Yadav on Friday addressed his supporters who had gathered outside his house in Lucknow to show their strength and majority.
Yadav told his supporters, "We all stand by Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav), "unka sandesh humare liye adesh hai (his message is an order for us)". He also said that "we have to work towards strengthening the party, urge you all to go to party office where Netaji will be coming".
Yadav resigned from his ministerial post along with his wife and son. The resignation was tendered to Mulayam Yadav. The move has come after his differences with Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav.

Shivpal also resigned from the position of state president. However, CM Akhilesh Yadav has not accepted the resignations.
Earlier in the day, amid open feud in the family, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav rushed to Lucknow from Delhi and launched efforts to douse the flames by meeting his son and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as well as brother Shivpal.
As soon as he reached, Mulayam summoned Shivpal, who is at loggerheads with Akhilesh, and held closed door meeting with him to defuse the situation.
Shivpal later met Akhilesh at his official residence, sources said, adding the meeting came at the behest of Mulayam.
Immediately thereafter, the SP chief met Akhilesh, the sources said.
"Once he (Mulayam) reaches here, all will be well. His word is final," SP national general secretary and Mulayam's another brother Ramgopal Yadav said earlier.
Earlier in the day, Ramgopal had met the Chief Minister and claimed that "Akhilesh is not angry with anyone and the decision of netaji (Mulayam) is final in the party."
The same was said by Shivpal at his press conference.
It may be recalled that reacting to Mulayam's decision to install Shivpal as UP party chief in his place, Akhilesh hit back. He sacked his uncle from all ministerial portfolios barring wasteland development.
