Mumbai: Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP have finalised the draft of the Common Minimum Programme after having a detailed meeting on Thursday evening. According to ABP News Sources, NCP & Congress parties have agreed upon having a CM from the Shiv Sena for 5 years while the Deputy CM post will jointly be shared by the UPA allies for 2.5 years each. The draft will now be sent to Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray to give final touches. According to the formula, the coveted Home Ministry portfolio will be given to NCP while other major ministries will be shared between Congress & NCP. The assembly speaker’s post may go to the Congress and the Deputy Speaker's post to the NCP. Who is going to be the next CM - Aaditya or Uddhav Thackeray is, however, still not clear. There are strong indications that the formal announcement of the freshly minted alliance will made on November 17, the death anniversary of its founder Balasaheb Thackeray. The Shiv Sena is also keen to declare the alliance on Sunday to give a tribute to the Sena patriarch. The Shiv Sena has summoned all its legislators to Mumbai on November 17. From the Sena, party President Uddhav Thackeray's trusted lieutenants, legislature party leader Eknath Shinde and Subhash Desai were present. The Congress was represented by former Chief Ministers Sushilkumar Shinde and Prithviraj Chavan, former state president Manikrao Thakre and former Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar. The NCP had deployed its state chief Jayant Patil, Mumbai President Nawab Malik and former Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal. All parties have individually and jointly assured that the new government would be in place at the earliest to bring the state out of President's Rule, reported IANS. Addressing a press conference on Friday morning, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut reiterated that the state will have chief minister from Shiv Sena only. "We want to remain in the state of Maharashtra and don't want to be seen as party that comes and goes...Common Minimum Programme will be in interest of #Maharashtra,” he added.
