Shiv Sena Denies Discussion On Nitish Kumar’s Name As Presidential Candidate In Meeting With KCR: Sources
According to ABP News sources, all the opposition parties except Congress are working on presenting a third front by pitching Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as the next presidential candidate.
New Delhi: Amid the speculations of Nitish Kumar being agreed upon as the Presidential candidate, a recent meeting between Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray and TRS leader K Chandrashekhar Rao did not have any mention of Nitish Kumar.
According to ABP News sources, all the opposition parties except Congress are working on presenting a third front by pitching Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as the next presidential candidate.
Recently, Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao visited Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray in the same regard. However, there was no discussion about Nitish Kumar or even the presidential candidate of the opposition.
As per the sources, the opposition is planning to pitch a strong candidate so that Congress also has to support them. The planning started from K Chandrashekhar Rao along with political strategist Prashant Kishore. KCR has been meeting different party leaders to get them on board for the same.
According to sources in Shiv Sena, it is too early to decide on a presidential candidate. And even if the discussion begins, there are fewer chances of any BJP supporter getting the support.
Nitish Kumar’s party is a part of the NDA alliance. Although, both JD(U) and BJP are at loggerheads in Bihar on the matter of caste census. However, RJD is in Nitish Kumar’s support on the issue.
It is also noteworthy that the BJP already has a majority in choosing presidential candidates which reduces the chances for a third front even more.
Meanwhile, ABP news sources near Prashant Kishore said that there are chances of KCR himself getting supported by the opposition leaders as the presidential candidate.
