SHAMEFUL: Watch Akali sarpanch's husband, son slap a pregnant nurse

MOGA: Upset over not being given preferential treatment, the husband and son of an Akali sarpanch allegedly assaulted a pregnant nurse after she told them to wait to get their patient admitted at a private hospital here. The incident occurred in Baghapurana town on Thursday when Paramjit Singh, husband of Akali sarpanch Daljit Kaur, and their son Gurjit Singh came to the hospital along with a patient, police said on Friday. Paramjit Singh, who is also a local Akali leader, wanted the hospital staff to admit the patient without delay. The nurse asked them to wait for two minutes so that she could call the doctor. The duo, however, was reluctant to wait and soon started quarrelling with her. Paramjit slapped the nurse and when she resisted, he allegedly pushed her. "The Akali leader wanted VIP treatment. He did not want to wait for the doctor to get his patient admitted at the hospital," the nurse claimed. "The SAD leader's son too hit me in front of my colleagues," she alleged, adding the duo also used derogatory language against her. Police have recorded the statement of the nurse and action would be taken against the accused, said SHO Gurmail Singh Sekhon. The entire incident was recorded in a CCTV camera installed inside the hospital.
