'Rahul Gandhi Is Country's Enemy': BJP Slams Congress MP Over Remarks On Hindenburg-SEBI Chair Row
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that the integrity of SEBI was "gravely compromised" by the allegations against its chief, Madhabi Puri Buch.
Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday slammed Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his remark on the row involving the Hindenburg report against SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband Dhaval Buch.
In a post on X, the Congress MP said that the integrity of the Securities Exchange Board of India has been "gravely compromised" by the allegations against its chairperson.
He also asked why the SEBI chief has not resigned yet and who will be held accountable if investors lose their money: "PM Modi, the SEBI Chairperson, or Gautam Adani?" The Raebareli MP also questioned whether the Supreme Court will take suo motu cognisance of the matter.
Reacting to the remark, Union minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh said that the Congress leader was the country's enemy.
The integrity of SEBI, the securities regulator entrusted with safeguarding the wealth of small retail investors, has been gravely compromised by the allegations against its Chairperson.

Honest investors across the country have pressing questions for the government:
- Why… pic.twitter.com/vZlEl8Qb4b
"Rahul Gandhi creates confusion, he is the enemy of the country. He goes abroad and does it and also does it in the country," he said.
Shehzad Poonawalla alleged that the report seems to be "like a well-planned and well-orchestrated hit job."
"It seems that for opposing one person, one party, Rahul Gandhi and his entire ecosystem has no qualms about damaging and destabilising the entire economy and financial systems," Poonawalla charged.
"Therefore, we see time and again that a foreign report is manufactured usually based on falsehoods and is lapped up by Congress and its ecosystem. What is the relationship that Rahul," he added.
The BJP spokesperson questioned the relationship between the maker of these foreign reports and Rahul Gandhi and accused him of working on an agenda to create "panic and instability so that a Bangladesh-type situation can be orchestrated in India."
Meanwhile Congress MP Manickam Tagore backed Rahul saying his demand is genuine.
"As LoP, Rahul Gandhi has demanded that SEBI chief must resign or she should be removed from her position by the Government. We don't know why PM Modi is silent...We will continue to demand JPC for a fair probe...," Tagore said.
