Rajasthan Crisis: Sachin Pilot Moves HC On Disqualification Of MLAs; Hearing Adjourned For Friday

New Delhi: After being sacked as Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and removed from the position of state Congress chief, Sachin Pilot on Thursday moved Rajasthan High Court challenging the disqualification notice of MLAs. ALSO READ | Rajasthan Political Crisis: Ashok Gehlot Snipes At Sachin Pilot As Congress Seeks His Homecoming According to the report, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi along with former solicitor general Harish Salve who currently represents India against Pakistan in the Kulbushan Jadhav case, have stood up for team Sachin, while Congress's Rajya Sabha member Abhishek Manu Singhvi will appear for the other faction led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Going by the initial inputs, hearing of Sachin Pilot's petition in Rajasthan High Court was adjourned within minutes. Sachin Pilot's lawyer Harish Salve had presented the demands challenging the disqualification notices. The court adjourned today's hearing and will now again hear the case tomorrow. The internal conflict between the two factions of Congress-led Rajasthan government went from political floors to the High Court after Congress on Wednesday took steps to issue disqualification notice to Sachin Pilot and other dissident Rajasthan MLAs for anti-party activities. The 19 rebel legislators were issued notice by the assembly Speaker and asked to respond by Friday. ALSO READ | Bihar Bridge Collapse: Tejashwi Yadav Raises Questions; Bihar Govt Refutes Claims Of Damage To Sattarghat Bridge The was issued to Sachin Pilot along with 12 other MLAs including Ramesh Meena, Indraj Gurjar, Gajraj Khatana, Rakesh Pareek, Murari Meena, PR Meena, Suresh Modi, Bhanwar Lal Sharma, Vedprakash Solanki, Mukesh Bhakar, Ramnivas Gavadia, Harish Meena, Brijendra Ola, Hemaram Chaudhary, Vishvendra Singh, Amar Singh, Dependra Singh and Gajendra Shaktawat. The MLAs of the Sachin group condemned the disqualification notice served to them, saying that the whip issued by the speaker was completely non-constitutional.
