PM Modi paid tribute to Rani Lakshmibai on her birth anniversary who was the leading figure of the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a tribute to the Rani of Jhansi, Lakshmibai Newalkar, on her birth anniversary on Tuesday. He said that the Lakshmibai was “a true embodiment of courage and patriotism” in a post on X.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid homage to Rani Lakshmibai he said, “only challenged the British rule but also showcased the power of Indian women on the world stage.”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in an X post said, that the “warrior queen” was an “epitome of unmatched heroism and valour.”

Tribute to the great warrior queen, Rani of Jhansi, Laxmibai ji on her birth anniversary, who fought against the British rule with her indomitable courage and bravery in the First Indian War of Independence of 1857. Rani Lakshmibai, popularly known as Queen of Jhansi, played an important role during India's first war of independence (1857-58). She was one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857, and was born on November 19, 1828. Rani Laxmibai died fighting British colonial rulers near Gwalior in a place known as Kotah-ki-Serai in 1858.
