Rajasthan Diwali Guidelines: Blanket Ban On Sale Of Firecrackers, Strict Action Against Vehicles Without Documents

The Rajasthan government has decided to ban the sale of firecrackers during the festive season in the state in the wake of the crisis created by the coronavirus pandemic.

Diwali 2020: Ahead of the Diwali celebrations 2020, every state is trying in its own way to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. In a move to protect COVID-19 patients and the public from the ill-effects of pollution, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday said that he has issued directions to ban the sale of firecrackers and restrict their use for the upcoming Diwali festival. "In order to protect the health of COVID-19 infected patients and general public due to poisonous smoke emanating from firecrackers, strict action has been taken to prohibit the sale of firecrackers in the state and restrict the movement of vehicles without fitness certificate," Gehlot tweeted in Hindi.

Rajasthan schools and colleges to remain closed till November 16: Gehlot

 The state government has directed that action would be taken against vehicles plying on roads without fitness certificate. Besides, Gehlot also said the government has decided to keep the schools and colleges in the state closed till November 16.
Gehlot was reviewing the situation created by the coronavirus crisis and "no mask-no entry" and "war for the pure" campaign of the state government. The chief minister also discussed the guidelines of 'Unlock6' in the meeting, a government statement said. Swimming pools, cinema halls, theaters, multiplexes, entertainment parks, etc will remain closed till November 30, it said. The maximum limit of guests at weddings should be 100, the statement said.
