Monsoon LIVE Updates 2023: Hello and welcome to ABP Live's Moonsoon 2023 LIVE blog. Please follow this space for all the news and latest updates regarding the downpour across various parts of the country. Large parts of India continue to battle flood and waterlogging situations as rain continues to lash the states of Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Assam, Telangana, and Delhi. Huge losses of lives and property have also been reported. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued Red, Orange and Yellow Alerts for various districts in the affected states.

Several states have also been witnessing repeated instances of landslides and rockslides. At least five people have died in a landslide event in Maharashtra's Khalapur and more than 75 people have been rescued so far, said Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased in the said incident.

The situation in Himachal Pradesh continues to worsen as a fresh cloudburst in Kinnaur has triggered flood-like situations in the area. Torrential rains have caused supply disruptions at far-flung places in Himachal Pradesh due to roads being washed off. Indian Air Force helicopters have delivered essential supplies at Shaakti, Maror and Shansher which are cut off due to rains.

Gujarat is also battling with flood situations. Heavy rainfall on Tuesday caused flooding in several areas. Torrential rain caused severe waterlogging in Rajkot, Surat and Gir Somnath districts after the state received 300 mm of rainfall, forcing the evacuation of 70 people.

The flood situation in the Sivasagar district of Assam remains to be critical as nearly 18,000 people are affected by the deluge. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 54 villages under two revenue circles (Nazira and Sivsagar) are currently flooded with the water levels of two rivers of the district — Disang and Dikhou, flowing above the danger level mark.
