"Politics has become polluted. There's a need to change it. Policymakers promoting capitalism, policies are being framed to favour capitalists. Nothing is done for common man, the poor. So, we're launching our new party, Sanyukt Sangharsh Party," said Charuni.
It may be noted that the Samyukta Kisan Morcha did not agree with Charuni's election decision. There was also a tug of war between Gurnam Singh Charuni and the leaders of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, but Charuni remained adamant on his point. However, Charuni has made it clear that he himself will not enter the fray, but will field farmers.
Gurnam Singh Charuni has been a part of the political party.
Gurnam Singh has been a part of the political party before. Gurnam Singh Chadhuni's wife Balwinder Kaur had tried her luck on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Kurukshetra. Her deposit was forfeited in that election and Gurnam Singh Charuni then distanced himself from politics. The BJP had questioned the intention of the Kisan movement over these political aspirations of Charuni.
