Probe over CM Yogi's promise to fill UP potholes by June 15

Uttar Pradesh: The deadline to finish the potholes of UP is of June 15, as per Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s promise. The CM had sought duration of 3 months for the same. With only three days left to CM’s deadline, ABP News launched a probe to find the progress in the work of filling potholes of Uttar Pradesh, which have been causes for several road accidents and deaths. aaaaaaaa Chief Minister had ordered, “By June 15 all roads of Uttar Pradesh should be made free of potholes”. Speaking on the same, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said, “The work is being done at a very high pace. Over 75% of roads in CP have already been filled”. Maurya further assured that “By June 15, around 80-90% roads would for sure get rid of potholes”. To check the credibility of Deputy CM’s claims, ABP News did a ground report to check how the work was progressing. On probing, the reporter was shocked to the see the quality of work done. The patching on the roads was at least 1-1.5 inch higher than the normal road level; which in turn attracts a lot of road accidents and can be a reason for misbalancing the vehicle. Also, the quality of the charcoal filling used for filling the road was so poor that it came off with a mere touch of hands. 1-compressed (2) Going a little ahead of Azamgarh, the reporter could witness huge potholes on the roads. The worst situation was seen on the way to Gorakhpur ahead of Azamgarh, where bricks were being used to fill huge gaps in the road.
