Pro-Khalistan Slogans Raised To Stop Himachal Buses? BJP Claims Intimidation With Swords

Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that disruptive elements are trying to disturb the state's peace and that he'll discuss the issue with Punjab's CM.

Himachal Pradesh News: A fresh dispute has sparked between Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. The leader of the Opposition in Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur alleged in the assembly that pro-Khalistan miscreants from Punjab were trying to spoil the atmosphere in Himachal. "Posters are being put up by stopping HRTC buses in Punjab and drivers are being intimidated by showing swords," he alleged in the assembly.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, too, said that the mischievous elements were trying to spoil the atmosphere in Himachal. Sukhu said he would speak to Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, on the matter.

'Bhindranwale Supporters' In Himachal

Jairam Ramesh said Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's supporters pasted Bhindranwale's posters on HRTC buses plying to Punjab.

In the last two days, these posters were found pasted on Himachal government buses at Hoshiarpur and other bus stands in Punjab. There is fear among the drivers of the transport corporation after Bhindranwale's posters were pasted on HRTC buses.

The Himachal Police has reportedly taken action against such people. Some media reports even claimed that bikers from Punjab were also seen in Himachal displaying flags of banned outfits.

Surprisingly, when these supporters were putting up posters, they also had swords in their hands. Along with this, they were also raising slogans of Bhindranwale Zindabad and Khalistan Zindabad.

Meanwhile, no statement has come from the Punjab government regarding this matter. While Sukhu has said that he would talk to Mann, the Opposition is trying to corner the Sukhu government in the Assembly over the issue.
