Priyanka, Kharge At Congress' 'Sankalp Satyagraha' In Delhi, BJP Attacks Party Over Tytler's Presence

Congress is observing 'Sankalp Satyagraha' to register their anger over the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as a Lok Sabha MP.

Rahul Gandhi Disqualification: The Congress party on Sunday is holding a nationwide 'Sankalp Satyagraha' to register their anguish over the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as a Lok Sabha MP. As part of the plan, party workers have gathered at Rajghat in Delhi for the Satyagraha. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other leaders have also arrived at the Rajghat to participate in the protest.

Meanwhile, PTI reported that Delhi police has denied permission to Congress for observing 'Satyagraha' at Rajghat.

Jagdish Tytler has also joined the party at Rajghat, reported ANI, to which BJP reacted sharply. Party leader RP Singh said, "It is clear, what kind of a Satyagraha they (Congress) are doing. The killer of Sikhs (Jagdish Tytler) has joined this Satyagraha. Congress cannot stay without Tytler. He is invited by the party to every event by Congress. It is evident if this is a Satyagraha or an attempt to re-establish the killer of Sikhs."

Apart from Delhi, the Congress party is observing 'Sankalp Satyagraha' across its state headquarters in the country as well.

Rahul Gandhi held his first press conference on Saturday a day after he was disqualified from the Lok Sabha over his conviction in a four-year-old defamation case.

The Congress leader trained his guns at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his presser where he said the reason behind his disqualification was that PM Modi was scared of his next speech on Adani.

“This is the whole drama that is been orchestrated to defend the Prime Minister from the simple question - Who's Rs 20,000 crore went to Adani's shell companies? I am not scared of these threats, disqualifications or prison sentences,” Gandhi said, adding, “Even if they permanently disqualify me, I will keep doing my job.”

Saying that he won’t apologise for his remarks on India’s democracy during his recent London visit, Rahul Gandhi said, “My name is not Savarkar, it is Gandhi and Gandhi never offers apology.”
