Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Tulsi Gabbard, US Director of National Intelligence, in New Delhi on Monday where he presented her water from the river Ganga, which was collected during the Maha Kumbh. In return, Gabbard gifted him a Tulsi Mala.
The meeting took place just hours after Gabbard met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Their discussions in the national capital centered on anti-India activities on American soil, particularly those linked to the banned Khalistani outfit, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), according to a report by India Today.

Gabbard's Multinational Tour
As a practicing Hindu, Gabbard has previously shared in an interview with ANI that she draws strength and guidance from Lord Krishna’s teachings in the Bhagavad Gita during both challenging and positive times.
Gabbard is on a two-and-a-half-day visit to India as part of a multinational tour. She arrived in New Delhi early Sunday and held discussions with Indian officials on intelligence cooperation, cybersecurity, and defence relations. Her visit follows Prime Minister Modi’s trip to Washington in February, where he met Gabbard and lauded her as a strong advocate of India-US ties.
During her stay, Gabbard participated in meetings and conferences aimed at strengthening bilateral security cooperation. She also joined intelligence and security officials from around 20 nations at a conclave chaired by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
This event, organised by the National Security Council Secretariat, has been held alongside the Raisina Dialogue since 2022. Gabbard’s India trip marks her second overseas visit since taking office, following her participation in the Munich Security Conference in Germany.
