Delhi CM Kejriwal & Actor Prabhas Attend Dussehra Celebrations At Red Fort Ground

Dussehra 2022 Celebrations: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Actor Prabhas attended a Dussehra celebration event at the Red Fort ground.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and actor Prabhas of 'Baahubali' fame attended the Dussehra celebrations on Wednesday, at the historical Red Fort ground in Delhi. Due to the actor's popularity, a large crowd gathered around the stage, and police were called in to control the situation. Prabhas will appear in Om Raut's film "Adipurush" as Raghava, the King of Ayodhya. The Adipurush teaser was recently unveiled at a grand event by the creators. The clip suggests that the film will depict a reimagined version of the epic Ramayana story.

"Since Prabhas is already playing the role of lord Rama in the upcoming film 'Adipurush', who better than him to set the evilness of Raavan on fire this Dussehra," the head of Lav Kush Ramleela committee, Arjun Kumar was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Depicting the huge crowd accumulated to get a glimpse of the actor, a Twitter user posted a video of the event in which police could be seen on the stage trying to reduce the crowd gathered.

Kejriwal expressed his desire for India to become the "best and strongest nation in the world" during the Lav Kush Ramlila Committee's 'Ravan Dahan' programme. He was presented with a harcopy of Ramayana, a Ram darbar, a mace and shawls, news agency PTI reported.

The CM futher said that Ramlila is very important for the people because it connects them to the country's culture and spreads the message of Lord Rama's life.

"Lord Ram lived a life of sacrifice. He could have become the king if he wished to. The people were with him, but at the behest of his parents, he left the kingdom and went in exile for 14 years," the chief minister said, reported PTI.

In the Hindu epic Ramayana, Ramlila represents the triumph of good over evil.

The chief minister also saw the effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhkaran, and his son Meghnad being burned.

Various Ramlila committees organised 'Ravan Dahan' programmes at the Red Fort area, which drew large crowds after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic.
