The prime minister stated that India's response to the pandemic is a model for the rest of the globe. He also went after the opposition, claiming them of being to blame for the spread of Covid across the country and the migratory situation.
“The Congress crossed the limit. During the first wave, when we had lockdown, when WHO was advising people to stay wherever they are, the Congress at the Mumbai railway station gave tickets to labours to go and spread coronavirus," he said.
He also said that the opposing party's comments and behaviour indicate that it is content to remain in power for the next 100 years.
The 2022 Budget Session began on January 31, with President Ram Nath Kovind's speech to the joint session of Parliament.
In his address, the president stated that the influx of 48 billion dollars in investment in the first seven months of the current fiscal year demonstrates the global investor community's conviction in India's economic narrative.
The first half of the budget session will take place from 31 January to 11 February, while the second portion will take place from 14 March to 8 April.
