PM Modi said that Rs 2 lakh will be provided for homes that suffered serious damage, while Rs 1 lakh will be given for partially damaged houses in Pakistani shelling.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced financial assistance for families affected by recent Pakistani shelling along the border. Under the relief package, Rs 2 lakh will be provided for homes that suffered serious damage, while Rs 1 lakh will be given for partially damaged houses.
After inaugurating several projects, Modi addressing a public gathering in Katra, emphasised the government's efforts to create new employment opportunities for youth, highlighting tourism as a key driver of economic growth. He accused India's neighbouring country of being not only hostile to humanity but also to tourism, actively undermining the livelihoods of the poor.
Referring to the incident in Pahalgam on April 22, Modi described it as an attack on insaniyat (humanity) and Kashmiriyat (the cultural ethos of Kashmir). He asserted that the attack was deliberately orchestrated to incite unrest in India, specifically targeting tourists.
'Every Time Pakistan Hears Operation Sindoor...': PM Modi
PM Modi said: "Today is June 6... a month ago... the night of May 6 proved to be doomsday for Pakistani terrorists. Whenever Pakistan will hear the 'Operation Sindoor', it will recall the shameful defeat. Pakistani army and terrorists would have never thought that India will attack them so deep inside their territory. Their terror infrastructure was turned into rubble in matter of minutes."
Every time Pakistan hears the name Operation Sindoor, it will be reminded of its humiliating defeat, said PM Modi.
India will never bow to terrorism, and the youth of Jammu and Kashmir stand united in this fight, he asserted while speaking in Katra.
“Today, people in J-K are looking at new dreams, and fulfilling them as well. The youth are happy with the construction of shopping malls, opening of cinema halls. They want J-K to become a prominent shooting destination for films. They also want the region to become a sporting hub," the prime minister said.
