PM Modi Calls Mathura, Indore Tragedies 'Heart Wrenching, Sad'. Extends Condolences To Kin Of Deceased

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over two tragedies that occurred today, killing 14 people.

The first was a traffic collision in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, while the second was a building fire in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Taking to Twitter, PMO said, "The road accident in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh is heart-wrenching. My deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this accident. With this I wish the injured a speedy recovery."

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, expressed his condolences over the disaster and promised that his administration will offer sufficient treatment to those who were wounded.

In context of Inore fire incident, PMO tweeted, "The fire incident in Indore, Madhya Pradesh is very sad. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragedy. Along with this, I wish a speedy recovery to all the injured."

The tragedy on the Yamuna Expressway this morning claimed the lives of seven people and wounded two more.

The deceased were driving back to Noida from Hardoi after attending a wedding celebration when their automobile collided with another vehicle around 5 a.m., according to police.

"Among the seven killed, three were women and three were men. One child also died. Another child and a man are hospitalised," Mathura's Superintendent of Police was quoted by ANI in its report.

A major fire erupted in Indore's Vijay Nagar area, destroying a two-story residential structure. Seven individuals were killed, while nine others were wounded. Some people even leaped from the ten-story building to save their lives.

"The fire broke out in the wee hours of Saturday in a building in Swarn Baag colony. Some were burnt alive and some suffocated as it was a congested building. The reason for death will be clear after post-mortem," police commissioner HN Mishra said.
