PM Modi Briefed On India's Countermeasures After Pakistani Air Raids In Border Areas
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is monitoring the situation even as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is in touch with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the head of the Indian Army, Air Force and the Navy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been briefed on the countermeasures taken by the Indian Armed Forces after Pakistani air raids in border areas.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is monitoring the situation even as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is in touch with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the head of the Indian Army, Air Force and the Navy.
Rajnath Singh held an urgent meeting on the ongoing situation with the Chiefs of Army, Air Force and the Navy. As per the latest inputs, eight missiles were fired from Pakistan directed at Satwari, Samba, RS Pura and Arnia. However, the missiles were intercepted by the Indian Air Defence Units and blocked.
Defence Ministry Spokesperson said military stations at Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani drones and missiles along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
"The threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). No casualties or material losses were reported. India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people," the Defence Ministry said.
